Technique Club continued

Here is the CHALKBOARD TECHNIQUE that I shared with ladies at my Technique Club a couple of weeks ago.  Once again I cased this card from another Stampin'Up! Demonstrator, Becky.
I used the Hearts A Flutter Stamp Set and Framelits, both of which are in the Spring Catalog.
Valentines is just around the corner so for your stampin' needs, please visit my website: www.shirleybmckay.stampinup.net.
Thanks for stopping by and until next time, Happy Stampin!

So here's a preview of one of the techniques I will teach.  This was "cased" from another Stampin'Up! Demonstrator.  Thanks so much Kelly!  For those who don't know what "case" means .... "copy and share everything" and that's just what we Demonstrators do.
Card dimensions are as follows:

First Edition Designer Series Paper 4 x 5 1/4
Always Artichoke 2 1/4 x 5

Other products used:  From My Heart Stamp Set, Labels Collection Framelits, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Always Artichoke Ribbon, VersaMark, Gold Embossing Powder
If you'd like more information, please feel free to contact me through my SU Website, shirleybmckay.stampinup.net.
Later in the week I will share the other technique that I'll be teaching at Sunday's class.
Until next time, happy stampin!

A-tisket, a-tasket, a green and yellow BASKET....

Well my baskets aren't green and yellow as you can see....but they remind me of that favorite nursery rhyme
Once a month I have the opportunity to go to The Terrace, a retirement facility, and stamp with the residents. When there in December, they asked if we could make a basket so this is what I came up with.  I only have an hour to spend with them so I had to come up with something pretty quick and easy.
The pink basket was made using a 12 x 12 piece of card stock, scored at 3" on all four sides.  On two sides I cut to the fold line (by looking at the picture I hope you can follow what I'm saying).  Then, all that's left to do is to bring up the two sides and tape it together.  It's hard to see in the picture but I put a brad on each side to adhere the handle to the basket.  The designer paper inserts measured 2 3/4 x 2 3/4.  The majority of the ladies are going to use these for Easter baskets for their grandchildren.
The smaller red basket was made using a 6 x 6 piece of card stock and scored at 2" on all four sides.  It turned out so cute and they couldn't wait to go to the store to pick up some Valentine chocolates.
They also made the little triangle favor that's filled with Hershey Kisses which I'm sure all of you have seen.  Several ladies plan on making these for their friends for Valentines Day. You can get 4 out of one piece of 8 1/2 x 11 card stock.  Each triangle is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, scored at 1 1/2, 2 1/2 and 4.
On my next visit, they want to make a couple of cards and several more Valentine treats.  I'll share those after that class in early February.
Thanks for joining me today.  Have a great week and I'll see you soon!

IT'S TIME to clear out the old and move on to some new products out of the SPRING CATALOG

I spent the biggest part of my day yesterday going through and assembling cards left over from my November and December classes.  One thing I have a hard time doing is taking the time following the class to assemble the leftovers and I end up saying to myself "oh, I'll do that later".  Well it seems my later never happens so here's what I'm left with..... a big mess!
The weather was so nasty yesterday which made for a great day to stay inside and stamp. Would you believe I assembled 52 cards yesterday?  I hate to say it but I have a couple more baggies to tackle another day but hey, I'm thankful the majority is behind me.
I'm not much of one for New Year Resolutions but this is one thing I'm going to work on.  I don't want to be making Christmas cards in January especially when I want to play with new stuff I've ordered out of the Spring Catalog.  If you haven't seen the catalog, please visit my SU website, www.shirleybmckay.stampinup.net.  If you would like a copy of the Catalog, please send me an email and I'll be glad to send you one.  For those customers who may be reading this post, you will receive yours at your next class.  The catalog is slammed full of so many cute sets and new products....
you don't want to miss it!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will do something good for yourself and stamp daily!

HAPPY 2013

May 2013 bring many sweet memories and peaceful times.  Wishing you and yours a prosperous New Year!

Those who follow my blog know I haven't posted in way too long.  I'm still here but life has gotten in the way and most of you know how that goes.  I am going to make a "resolution" to post at least a couple of times a week so hope you'll hang with me.

I'm sharing with you today a New Years note that I made.  I had several people that I wanted to remember at Christmas time but didn't get a card in the mail early enough.
The wording came from another SU Demo although I did tweak it to my liking.

The Rhinestone Jewel is barely noticable in this picture....but I don't send many things without putting a little "bling" on them.  When these first came out, I was not a big fan but now I don't think I could live without them.

Thanks for joining me; have a wonderful day!
